Abbi Klopp, BA

Hello! My name is Abbi Klopp, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling in Clinical Mental Health at Adler University in Chicago. This program provides a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches while also preparing us to serve diverse populations with empathy and cultural competence. As a pre-licensed intern, I am under the supervision of Kelly LaPorte and Talvir Shahi, who will guide my professional growth and ensure I provide high-quality care.

Supervision is an essential part of my development as a clinician, allowing me to engage in ongoing self-reflection and professional growth. I understand that as an intern, I am still learning, and I am deeply committed to expanding my knowledge and skills to best support my clients.

I am particularly passionate about working with adolescents, supporting them through their unique challenges of identity development, peer relationships, and mental health during these transformative years. My therapeutic approach is centered on creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions, gain self-awareness, and develop effective coping strategies.

Prior to my graduate studies, I earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama. Born and raised in Naperville, I’m excited to be back in my hometown, using my skills and passion to contribute to the well-being of the individuals in this community.
